The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has dismissed Oleksiy Filatov, who held the position of Deputy head of the presidential administration. The corresponding decree published on the website of the President.
The document was signed may 11. The reasons for the dismissal were not disclosed.
23 April it became known that Filatov and a number of other high-ranking Ukrainian officials refused to go on interrogation in the Prosecutor General’s office. The Deputy head of the presidential administration said that investigators have put forward unfounded accusations and engaged in “advertising activity is the execution of requirements criminally-the procedural code”.
Filatov is held as a suspect in the case of the businessman Sergey Kurchenko. Kurchenko is called member of the “family” of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and accused of especially dangerous crimes against the state. The state office of public Prosecutor intends to interrogate the Deputy head of the AP on the subject of assistance to criminals and money laundering.
The defendants in the investigation into Kurchenko became 98 people, including senior officials. 12 of them are current senior officials of ministries and departments, as well as NBU, six heads of regional state administrations, 14 person management team of public companies.
