Air and space forces (VKS) Russia stormed the Syrian city of Kabani, located in the North-East of the province of Latakia. It is reported by Al-Masdar News, citing a military source in the governmental troops of Syria.
It is noted that the Russian aircraft launched several air strikes near the city during the attack on the positions of militants grouping “Khayat Tahrir al-sham” (HTS created on the basis of the banned in Russia “Dzhabhat EN-Nusra”) and the Islamic movement of Eastern Turkestan. After the attack Russian aerospace forces, the Syrian Arab army (SAA) have used reactive multiple rocket launchers Golan-1000, firing a variety of missiles, the newspaper writes.
Earlier it was reported that government forces in Syria are ready to storm the strategically important city. If the CAA manage to get control of Kabani, the militants in Latakia will be cut off from their key supply of supplies from the province of Idlib.
In April the Russian space forces airstrikes struck more than in all previous months this year. This is due to the fact that in the North-Western part of Syria increased militant activity HTS.
