Costs of Russians in April 2019 rose 6.4 percent compared with the same period a year earlier, reports “Prime” with reference to the research holding “ROMIR”.
The growth of spending exceeds the amount of the accumulated for the period of inflation at 5.2 percent. It is noted that expenditure in April was second only to the importance of 2015.
“Overall, real consumer spending in the current year are some of the highest marks for the years of observations exceeding the value of at least the previous two years,” the study says.
Relative to last month, daily spending dropped to 7.7 percent. As explained in the study, in April, the costs are traditionally lower following the March surge, this is one of the rare months when consumption is not influenced by extraneous factors (holidays and vacations).
Compared to the previous month, consumer spending with average revenues fell by 7.9 percent, high — income by 6.6 percent. Russians with low incomes spent less than 8.7 percent.
In comparison with last year, consumers with low incomes spent more than 9 percent, with an average of 2.6 percent and 7.6 percent.
Earlier it was reported that about 40 percent of Russians began to save on food and non-food products in the last six months. About two percent of the respondents admitted that during the period from November 2018 through March 2019, the weakened economy mode. About half of respondents reported that over the last few months of their spending on food and non-food products has not changed.
