The leader of group “Leningrad” Sergey Shnurov has published a poem dedicated to the protests against the construction of the Church of St. Catherine in the center of Yekaterinburg. The work of the artist appeared in his Instagram account.

Ironically, the musician described the conflict between supporters of the construction of the temple in one of the squares of the city and “those who like to walk, not to pray.” Cord noted the inaction of the police, whose representatives decided not to intervene in the conflict.

“The police hesitated. Case whether that
Get into a fight, che all the more necessary?
Who sport those for a pilgrimage,
Who easier — for the freedom of the promenade.
When the brawl became quite obscene
For reconciliation, so to speak, of the parties
Decided it was time to serve a moleben,
The cries of the local unfriendly crows.
Sport and faith combined together
Faster, higher and stronger half.
Lift-coup, but cross those
Well, who’s behind lawn still povot?
The calm before the storm, not otherwise.
“Oh, sport, you are peace, and peace to your home”.
Who is against the temple? Can othercity,
According to the Orthodox Canon.”

Yesterday in Ekaterinburg there has passed spontaneous protest. The protesters demanded to keep the square at the drama Theatre, which plans to build the Cathedral of St. Catherine for the 300th anniversary of the city in 2023.
