Soviet deep-water complexes “Seliger-1”, “Seliger-2” and “Seliger-3” often, as cargo-ballast used in the track links of the tractor, told the “Military standard” hero of the Soviet Union, captain 1st rank Valery Kulakov.
“Americans looking at the pictures of the sea bottom with the fingerprints of tracks of the tank, was thrown into confusion. Began to sound the assumption that the Russian had a special machine on tracks, able to surf the bottom and lay nukes… Hydronauts, of course, these inferences only laughed,” said he.
Gidronavty added that the cargo, ballast, suspended on a rope under the lower part of the “Seliger”, had a weight of over one ton, were discharged, when the complex reached the seabed. This allowed the complex self within a radius of several hundred meters to explore the bottom topography.
In April, the water in the “Sevmash” was launched nuclear submarine special purpose project 09852 “Belgorod”, which will be the first regular carrier of unmanned underwater vehicles “Poseidon.”
