U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo expressed the opinion that the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro over. Such a statement he made at a press conference following talks with Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, reports RIA Novosti.
The us side said that Maduro should step down from his post. Pompeo added that the US hopes that Russian support for Maduro will stop.
“Threats against Maduro from the United States and [the opposition leader of Venezuela], Guido nothing to do with democracy are not,” said for his part Lavrov.
The talks between Lavrov and Mike Pompeo in Sochi lasted almost three hours. Lavrov called the conversation useful.
