Near the residence of Patriarch Filaret of Kyiv held a rally of members of public organization “the Corps of defenders of the revolution of Dignity,” which called on the Ukrainian religious leaders for unity. About it reports the UNIAN.
“Discord finally educated in the Cathedral Ukrainian Orthodox Church is a threat to national security and will be the best gift to the Kremlin. Millions of Ukrainian believers can become hostages in the confusion of the higher clergy of the Ukrainian state”, — said the protesters.
They were trying to pass Filaret’s letter, however, from the residence of the protesters no one came. Members of the organization told reporters that he would send it to the Patriarch by e-mail.
A participant Olesya Goryaynov noted that she and her social organization does not intend to evaluate what is happening in relations between Patriarch Filaret and the head of the newly formed Orthodox Church in Ukraine (PCU), Metropolitan Epiphanius, but only called two religious leaders to understand.
Since the establishment of one national Ukrainian Church of the Epiphany and the Patriarch did not conduct a single joint service.
After the dissolution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP) in December 2018 Filaret is the honorary Patriarch of the DNC. Earlier it became known that he decided to hold a meeting of bishops which met to discuss the prospects of revival of the Kyiv Patriarchate. Epiphanius on the so-called fraternal meeting not invited.

ROC broke Eucharistic communion with the Ecumenical Patriarchate immediately after the lifting of the anathema with the Ukrainian schismatics in the fall of 2018. The canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church remained part of the Moscow Patriarchate did not recognize the results of the Unification of the Cathedral.
