The Chinese authorities have restricted access to the online encyclopedia “Wikipedia” in all languages. On it informs “bi-Bi-si” referring to the Wikimedia Foundation that supports the resource.
“After a thorough analysis of the Internet traffic we can confirm that “Wikipedia” in the country now locked in all languages”, — reads the statement of the Fund. According to his representatives, they had received from the Chinese authorities, no notice prohibiting access to the site.
Prior to this “Wikipedia” in the country was not available only in Chinese, however, according to the project’s OONI, watching the locks in the network, from the end of April, the restriction was extended to version of the encyclopedia in other languages.
In addition to the online encyclopedia in the country is also unavailable Google, Facebook and LinkedIn.
In April 2017, “Wikipedia” banned in Turkey, since, according to the authorities, the project has become a part of an information campaign to demonize the country internationally.
