Former Deputy chief of anti-corruption Department of the Ministry of internal Affairs Dmitry Zakharchenko, accused of corruption, commented on the court verdict against the players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev. On Wednesday, may 15, reports REGNUM.
Zakharchenko made a statement in the hall of Presnensky court, where previously was convicted athletes.
According to him, the players are “normal guys getting it in 1.5 years for a chipped tooth.” Also Zakharchenko said that he does not understand why they “broke” football career and hoped that Pavel Mamaev “will play in Rostov”.
The court announced the sentence on may 8 players: Kokorin was sentenced to 1.5 years, and Mamaev — 1 year 5 months of imprisonment in a General regime colony. The players were defendants in three criminal cases under article “Beating” and “Hooliganism”.
Dmitry Zakharchenko — a former acting head of Department “T” of anti-corruption cupola MIA, who was charged with three episodes of receiving a bribe in especially large size, abuse of power and obstruction of justice. He was detained on 9 September 2016. During the searches were discovered cash totaling about 8.5 billion rubles.
