In the state Duma introduced a bill banning the dissemination of information that may facilitate the introduction of sanctions against Russia. For violation of the prohibition is proposed to punish by imprisonment up to five years. This is stated in the document published on the website of the state Duma.
According to the document, the ban will affect the dissemination of information “under the jurisdiction of unfriendly foreign countries” and led to the introduction of “restrictive measures” against Russia. The publication of such data through mass media and the Internet will provide for criminal liability in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to five years.
“It is expected that these measures will change the paradigm of information interaction: an uncontrolled transfer of information to foreign counterparties will change to metered mode, providing only necessary and harmless information,” the document says.
The bill was introduced by the Deputy from “Fair Russia” Mikhail Emelianov on Wednesday, may 15.
