Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova will not play “Roland Garros” because of shoulder problems. About this the athlete told in his Instagram.
“Not always the right decision — very simple. The good news: I have resumed training and gradually load the shoulder. Paris will miss you, see you next year!” — wrote 32-year-old Sharapova.
In February 2019, Sharapova withdrew from the tournament in Miami. After that, she missed the event in Rome, Madrid and Stuttgart.
Sharapova is a five — time champion of the tournament series “Grand slam” and the winner of the silver Olympic medal at London 2012. She twice won the “Roland Garros” (2012, 2014), and last season reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.
“Roland Garros”-2019 will be held from 26 may to 9 June in France. Prize Fund of the competition will amount to 42,7 million Euro.
