The VR regulations Committee has considered seven draft decisions on the date of the inauguration of President-elect Vladimir Zelensky and recommended that Parliament should vote on each of them. About it reports “Ukrainian truth”.
MPs has registered seven projects that offered the ceremony of swearing in the period from 19 to 28 may. The Committee recognized that all decisions are motivated because they imply inauguration date in the period set by law.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Committee Pavel Pynzenyk, according to the regulations, the Parliament will vote for the resolution in turn, in order of registration date. As soon as some of them attains majority (226) of the votes, the following will not be considered.
Zelensky, in turn, insists that the ceremony be held on 19 may.
If the Verkhovna Rada majority will not be able to determine the date of the inauguration, it shall be appointed by the speaker of Parliament. Andriy Parubiy, incumbent, opposed early elections to the Parliament. In the event that Zelensky will officially take office after may 27, he will not be able to dissolve Parliament until the expiration of his term.
The second round of presidential elections took place in Ukraine on April 21. Zelensky has gained about 73 percent of the votes, while his rival, incumbent President Petro Poroshenko — a little more than 24 percent.
