Hijacked Russian plane sent to a mental hospital

Pavel Shapovalov, who is accused in the attempted hijacking EN route from Surgut to Moscow, sent on compulsory treatment. On Thursday, may 16, in the Ural Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia on transport have informed “Interfax”.

According to the Agency, the term of Shapovalov detention extended until July 21, with transfer to a psychiatric hospital of Yekaterinburg.

On 23 January it was reported that Shapovalov was appointed psihologo-psychiatric examination. This decision was taken in connection with the external inadequacy of his behavior on Board the aircraft, and the severity of the offense.
