The government or the President can withdraw from regions previously delegated authority in case of their ineffective performance, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a Cabinet meeting. His words leads RIA Novosti.
According to him, the Cabinet will discuss the bill, which introduces a system of control by the Federal government over the implementation of the regions powers. To first assess the proposed efficiency and quality, he said.
“And if the regional authorities fail in their task, the Federal center has the right by decision of the President or the government confiscate their delegated authority. Changes in the control system will affect 26 fields of activities of regional administrations,” — said Medvedev.
