Men will wear women’s high heel shoes and want the race, taking part in the charity event Walk a Mile (“walk a mile”). It is reported by Footwear News.
The event, whose goal will be to attract public attention to the issue of sexual abuse and domestic violence against women, will be held in Sacramento (California) on may 19.
The cost of participation in the race is $ 50. This price includes rental shoes, unlimited access to alcoholic beverages, t-shirts of the event and a bag of Souvenirs.
The promoter is a charitable company Weave, advocating for the rights and freedoms of women. Since 1994, the company establishes and develops partnerships with organizations that support refugees and their children.
In may 2018 the head of the organization Model Alliance Sara Ziff protecting the rights of women in the fashion industry, has launched a project called Respect Program (the”Program”). She encourages the models and other employees of the fashion sector not to be afraid to speak openly about harassment by male colleagues. Ziff hopes that major companies and fashion houses, in turn, will begin to support affected women and will make every effort to eradicate harassment, bringing criminals to justice.
