Almost two-thirds of Russian families (65 per cent) had not accumulated any savings, reports owned by Grigory Berezkin RBC with reference to the survey laboratory by the Levada center Levada Lab.
According to sociologists, this figure practically has not changed since 2012. A sociologist at the Levada center Stepan Goncharov said that in 2008-2011, the proportion of people with savings were even lower.
According to the experts, savings of Russians do not exist is primarily due to low income. Real disposable incomes according to Rosstat, decreased in the period from 2014 to 2017, and in 2018, the growth amounted to 0.1 percent. In 2013, real income fell by 8.3 percent. For the first quarter of 2019 the average income per capita amounted to 29.9 thousand rubles.
By 2018, the Russians means that the Russians postponed, was the lowest in 20 years. They accounted for 3.7 percent. Less than it was in 1998 only 2.5 percent of income. Savings can afford only 35% of households.
In 2018, more than half of Russians have reduced their spending on clothing and entertainment. In the fourth quarter, spending was reduced by 64 percent. For comparison, in 2017 on the clothes saved 59 percent of the respondents, activities — 57 percent.
