Russian anti-aircraft missile complexes (AAMS) s-400, which will be delivered to Turkey will not enter the NATO system. This was announced by Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, says Anadolu.
According to him, Ankara will have full control of SAM. The complexes in the NATO system one to integrate will not, said the Minister.
Cavusoglu added that if the US fears are justified, then s-400 “has long been considered all data with the Israeli F-35 in the skies over Syria, as well as the Norwegian F-35 over the Baltic sea”. He also recalled the words of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that the Alliance members can make their own decisions for procurement of products for defense.
Earlier in may it was reported that the United States invited Turkey to postpone the purchase of s-400 until 2020.
In April, the U.S. gave Turkey an ultimatum: if Ankara will not refuse from purchasing Russian air defense system, Washington will not give her the fifth generation fighter F-35. In the United States and other NATO countries fear that if Ankara armed with will and With-400, and F-35, the Russian radar systems will learn to calculate and track the American fighters.
A contract to supply Ankara with the four battalions of s-400 was achieved in September 2017. The contract is worth $ 2.5 billion, but half of this amount will cover the Russian loan. In April this year, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Russia could provide Turkey With 400 before July 2019.
