The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin wrote a letter of resignation. He said this in a video message published on his Facebook account.
Klimkin added that on 20 may send a statement to Parliament, and then already the new President Vladimir Zelensky. After leaving the post of foreign Minister of Ukraine, he plans to run for Parliament.
“I have a lot of different ideas, I hope to implement them, so I go ahead, go into politics, go to the Verkhovna Rada with the team with which I share the principles and vision of how to move forward,” the diplomat said.
About the imminent resignation Klimkin reported may 14 Advisor Dmitry Zelensky Razumkov. According to him, will leave his post as the Minister of defence Stepan Poltorak and Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko.
Pavlo Klimkin became the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine on 19 June 2014. Before two years he was Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany.
