The armed forces of Venezuela will receive from Russia more than 16 thousand suhpaykov. It is reported TASS with reference to own military-diplomatic source.
It is noted that on may 16, Rosoboronexport, the main exporter of Russian arms, has posted information about the purchase 16.5 thousand special suhpaykov to be supplied to Venezuela. The initial price of the contract amounts to 14.38 million rubles.
In the terms of reference says that the power supply is carried out in the framework of assistance to the Venezuelan government. The parcel will transfer to the port of Puerto Cabello.
In the “Rosoboronexport” declined to comment on this information.
On 30 April the leader of the opposition of Venezuela Juan Guido urged soldiers and the people of the country to overthrow the President. He said that the army took his side, and called the events “the final phase of “operation Freedom””. The next day, President Nicolas Maduro announced his victory over the forces of the opposition.
The situation in Venezuela escalated on 23 January, when Guido amid mass protests declared himself interim President. Its legitimacy is recognized by the US, several countries in Latin America and Europe. Russia supported the incumbent President Nicolas Maduro.
