Belarus has suspended Russian oil transit on the oil pipeline “Druzhba” in Ukraine. The transit of raw materials to Poland was also not carried out. This is stated in the message on the website of the concern “Belneftekhim”.

The reason for the suspension of transit was the lack of available tanks on the Ukrainian territory for pumping dirty oil in the pipeline. The resumption of transit is planned in the night from 19 to 20 may.

The operator of the Belarusian section of the pipeline “Gomeltransneft Druzhba” provides pumping quality of the Mozyr oil refinery (refinery) to the extent required for its full operating capacity. The enterprise works in normal boot and engages in the processing of “clean” oil, second oil refinery — “Naftan” —operates on reduced load due to insufficient quality of oil that comes by pipeline Surgut — Polotsk. The pipeline Unecha — Polotsk, which the oil “Naftan” was supplied previously filled with oil, contaminated with chlorides, and idle, the report said.

The Druzhba pipeline splits near the Belarusian Mozyr on the North and South branches. Northern oil through the territory of Poland comes to Germany. The Polish side has stopped receiving raw materials at the end of April and have not resumed. On the southern branch of the pipeline the raw material goes in the direction of Ukraine, and then to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The Ukrainian side has suspended transit on April 25. He was then resumed on 11 may.

About problems with the quality of the oil coming from Russia by pipeline “Druzhba”, Belarus reported in April. In the raw material was found to have a high content of chlororganics. In “Transneft” the operator of the Russian part of the pipeline — said that the contamination occurred on a site Samara — Unecha was intentional. The consequence of suspects in the theft of oil on a million rubles and pollution of raw materials for the concealment of this fact six people. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has previously estimated the damage from dirty oil to hundreds of millions of dollars. The company “Ukrtransneft” said the damage at one million dollars.
