In Canada, the 11-year-old girl fell on a pencil neck, but doctors managed to save her. This publication reports The Mirror with reference to the medical journal BMJ.
The incident occurred at one of the schools of Toronto. The child tripped on the reverse, pencil and stuck the sharp end into his neck. Teachers called an ambulance and the girl was immediately taken to the hospital.
The initial examination showed that the area around the puncture didn’t have a bruise, it hasn’t been bleeding. Pulse child was in the normal range, breathing problems arose.
“Because the girl was in stable condition, we gave her computed tomographic angiography, to see what vessels were affected, before sending to the operating room,” explained the doctors. The showed that the pencil is fully occlude the left common carotid artery.
The girl did surgery and removed the foreign body. Two days later she was discharged home.
In April it was reported about the Indian Builder, fell with his head on an iron pin. A metal rod pierced his right temple and exited on the left side of his forehead, but doctors managed to extract him and save the man.
