Living in the countries of North and South America, Australia and New Zealand are citizens of Russia proposed to create a “district of the far abroad”, allowing them to choose their own Deputy to the State Duma. It is reported TASS with reference to the statement of the Chairman of the Regional Council of compatriots living abroad, Dmitry Lobkov.

“We invite the world Congress of compatriots the question of creating a County abroad, so we can imagine his Deputy, as is done in Spain, France”, — said the Chairman at the meeting in Buenos Aires (Argentina) conference.

In addition, living abroad, citizens of Russia proposed to amend the Russian legislation. “We have a lot of compatriots who left with Soviet passports and would like to obtain Russian citizenship, but they can’t do it without giving up their citizenship,” said Lobkov.

Also people have offered to amend legislation that would make the decision to obtain Russian citizenship by a child without the consent of the other parent.

Commenting on the initiative of compatriots, state Duma Deputy Pavel Spirov noted that the issue of creating electoral districts abroad is currently associated with a number of difficulties, while simplifying the granting of citizenship is possible.

In may, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has introduced a simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for certain categories of citizens of Ukraine.

In March, the international Agency Henley & Partners has published an updated index of the most convenient for travel passports, the leaders of which were Japan, Singapore and South Korea.
