Russia may start issuing passports to residents of Transnistria. About this on air of the TV channel of the IMA said the Deputy of the state Duma from “United Russia” Alexander Yarashuk.
According to him, in the near future in Moscow on this issue will be decided.
The Deputy explained that the changes in the Russian legislation necessary for the issuance of passports, made it on suggestions from the citizens of Transnistria. The reason for this Yarashuk said, is that the issue of Russian citizenship is for the inhabitants of Transnistria one of the priorities.
The decree on the facilitation of the issuance of Russian passports to residents of the breakaway DNR and LC was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 24. Then he noted that this measure is of a purely humanitarian nature and is not intended to create problems for the Ukrainian authorities. Later Putin said it is considering to simplify the issuing of Russian citizenship for all Ukrainians. Foreign Minister of Czech Republic said that the EU has no plans to impose sanctions against Russia because of this decree, and his colleague from Romania stressed that sanctions against Russia will create problems for Ukraine.
