In Yekaterinburg announced the collection of suggestions of local residents on possible sites for the construction of the temple of the Holy Martyr Catherine, which was built on the site of the Park. This was reported on the website of the press service of the city administration.
The address of citizens will be accepted for 10 days through e-admissions on the official portal of Yekaterinburg. “The results of collection of applications will take place on preferential voting, in which residents can vote for the site for construction of a new Church,” — said in the message.
Earlier in may, the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev invited the residents of Yekaterinburg to discuss alternative sites for the construction of the temple. The list of possible sites for the construction needs to be published on 20 may.
Protests against the construction of the Cathedral of St. Catherine, which officials want to build to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Ekaterinburg in 2023, began on 13 may and lasted for several days. Activists broke into the construction site, clashed with security guards and security officers. 30 people were sentenced to administrative arrests from 2 to 15 days, the police goes to educational institutions in the city and with students conducting preventive conversations.
