The chief oncologist of Ministry of health of Russia Andrey Kaprin said about the factors that affect the development of cancer. On Tuesday, may 21, according to RIA Novosti.
They include eating fatty foods, various food additives, including those contained in fast food, red meat in large quantity. Kaprin added that also can negatively impact alcohol use, sedentary lifestyle and obesity.
The expert said that Smoking increases the risk of cancer in 30-50 times, depending on the location of the tumor. According to him, tobacco use contributes to the development of not only lung cancer.
Also the interlocutor of the Agency said that over the last decade in Russia has increased the number of cancer patients. Thus, in the period from 2008 to 2018, an increase of 23.7 percent.
Currently, Russia’s record of 3.76 million people having malignant tumors. According to 2017, the incidence rate per 100 thousand population amounted to 425 people, while the mortality rate is 198 people.
