Data nearly 50 million Instagram bloggers were in an open access network. Database with information about users found a specialist in cybersecurity Anurag sen (Anurag Sen), which reported TechCrunch.
According to the publication, in the database it was possible to find not only readily available data on the accounts of the social network, but also private information: email address of users and their phones. In addition, the document cited the valuation of each account based on the number of subscribers, as well as the engagement and reach of posts. A number of users with whom the journalists contacted by found in the database contact, confirmed the authenticity of their data. As writes TechCrunch, among the victims of the leak turned out to be several well-known bloggers.
The publication found out that the base belongs located in Mumbai, the company Chtrbox involved in the sale of bloggers sponsored posts. Company representatives did not provide comment to journalists. At the moment the database is no longer available. In the owning Instagram, the company Facebook stated that to understand the causes of the incident.
In March 2019, it became known that Facebook employees have access to stored in plain text user passwords to Instagram since at least 2012.
