Vice-President Michael Penny reported that the U.S. is considering all options in Venezuela. It is reported TASS with reference to the press service of the White house.
“The President [of the USA Donald] trump has made it clear that we are considering all possible options,” said Vice-President. He added that the US cannot remain aloof when in Venezuela, “there is a disaster under oppression and deprivation”.
Pence also said that trump has created a coalition, which includes more than 50 States, which recognize the leader of the Venezuelan opposition Juan, Guido interim President. American policy will continue diplomatic and economic pressure on Venezuela and their Cuban backers.
The situation in Venezuela escalated on 23 January, when the opposition leader Juan Guido amid mass protests declared himself interim President. Its legitimacy is recognized by the US, several countries in Latin America and Europe. Russia supported the incumbent head of state Nicolas Maduro. At the end of April, Guido made an unsuccessful attempt at the “final phase” of the coup.
