Zelensky has sacked the head of the General staff

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has signed the decree about resignation of the head of the General staff of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) Viktor Muzhenko. Document published on the website of the President.

It is reported that the new head of the General staff became Ruslan Homchak.

Muzhenko was appointed chief of the General staff on 3 July 2014 by the decree of Peter Poroshenko. 24 Aug 2014 he was awarded the rank of Colonel, and on October 14 2015 — General of the army of Ukraine.

During the inauguration, Zelensky said that it is necessary to dismiss Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko, the head of the SBU Vasily Gritsak and defense Minister Stepan Poltorak. Poltorak on the same day wrote a letter of resignation.
