The LEGO company went to work on completely renewable energy sources three years earlier than planned, reports “bi-Bi-si”.
This was achieved through the construction of wind power in the Irish sea. The power station is 258 MW, the design included a giant wind turbine, assembled entirely from LEGO.
The turbine consists of 146 of thousands of plastic LEGO bricks and entered into the Guinness Book of records as the largest wind turbine assembled from the designer.
Also, the company owns 31 percent of wind power Borkum Riggrund 1 in Germany and number in plant Burbo Bank, located in Liverpool Bay.
In mid-July of 2018, it was reported that the world’s largest oil trader Vitol Group opened a Fund to invest in wind power. The declared investments — about 200 million euros (234 million dollars).
