The parliamentary faction “Block of Petro Poroshenko” opposed the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for changes in the electoral law. About it reports “Interfax”.
“The proportional system with closed lists is a lot of corruption. That’s what we said a civil society. Therefore, our faction will not support this bill”, — said the head of the faction of Artur Gerasimov.
Earlier in the course of consultations with leaders of parliamentary factions Zelensky listed proposals for reform of the electoral law. We are talking about the transition from a mixed electoral system to a fully proportional and lower the entry barrier for political parties to three percent.
Zelensky took office of the President of Ukraine on may 20. During the inauguration, he announced the dissolution of Parliament, giving MPs two months to fulfill its requirements: the resignation of the government, the abolition of parliamentary immunity and the adoption of the law on illicit enrichment.
