The Russian government supported the bill on pre-trial blocking web-based material with scenes of animal cruelty. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the author of the document, the head of the Duma Committee on ecology and environmental protection Vladimir Burmatov.
According to him, the draft law was developed by the Committee in the discussion was attended by animal advocates. In the near future deputies will submit the document to the discussion of the legislative Commission of “United Russia” and then in the lower house of Parliament. It may take a few weeks.
Burmatov noted that now Russia — the main supplier of such content, “and on an international scale”. “Especially in Asian countries where it is popular”, he added. The adoption of the proposed amendments would allow Roskomnadzor to block zhivoderskie publish the same as now is done with extremist.
At the end of 2018 was adopted the law about responsible treatment of animals, a year earlier — about toughening of responsibility for cruelty to animals.
