Negotiations between Turkey and the US have moved forward, however, Ankara still preparing for possible U.S. sanctions over the purchase of Russian anti-aircraft missile complexes (AAMS) s-400. This is with reference to the Minister of defence of the country Hulusi ACAR according to Reuters.

As it became known earlier, on 22 may, the United States demanded that the Turkish government within two weeks to cancel the deal with Russia to buy the American missile defense system Patriot. In the event of failure to comply with Washington has threatened to cancel delivery of the fifth generation fighter F-35 and sanctions.

May 16, Turkey stated that it will not integrate s-400 in the NATO system. Ankara will have full control of SAM.

In April, Washington was already talking about refusal to supply the F-35 in Turkey, if the country still will buy Russian air defense system. In the United States and other NATO countries fear that if Ankara armed with will and With-400, and F-35, the Russian radar systems will learn to calculate and track the American fighters.

A contract to supply Ankara with the four battalions of s-400 was achieved in September 2017. The contract is worth $ 2.5 billion, but half of this amount will cover the Russian loan.
