The CPS stated growth in one and a half times the proportion of vegetables with nitrates in Russia last year. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Ministry.
According to the monitoring of the quality and safety of food products, in 2018, four percent of fruits and vegetables exceeded the rate for the nitrates. In 2017, it was 2.2 percent. “There is a tendency to increase in non-standard results”, — noted in the organization.
Experts of Rospotrebnadzora have taken 25 samples of cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes sold in Moscow in chain stores, at markets and fairs of the day: short, smooth, and dlinnoplodnye and short pimpled cucumbers, plum tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and “bull’s heart”, the potatoes from Tambov, Lipetsk regions and the Krasnodar territory. In none of these samples did not reveal nitrates.
Nitrates used in agriculture for accelerated ripening of the product. In small quantities, they are freely excreted in large form hazardous substances and cause oxygen starvation and other irregularities in bodily functions.
