The Yekaterinburg diocese has published a statement on the publication of a poll by the Russian center for public opinion studies (VTSIOM) for the construction of the temple in Yekaterinburg.
The report said that voting was conducted in a “worsening situation” when the parties have not had “the opportunity to present arguments” and therefore does not reflect the “actual situation” and “recent overheating” of the companies. The outcome was also influenced by nezainteresovanosti local residents regarding the project of construction of the temple, including the improvement of the Park and the city promenade, said the diocese. “Because the urban community is difficult to form an objective opinion about the project”, — said in a statement.
Previously, researchers VTSIOM found that more than half of inhabitants of Yekaterinburg (74%) against the construction of the temple in the city Park. While 18 percent of respondents were against the construction of a temple in the city in General. That the Cathedral should be built in the Park in accordance with the developed project agreed to only seven percent of the respondents. The city authorities are preparing to conduct its own survey.
