The Central election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine has no time to conduct tender procedures before the extraordinary elections to the Verkhovna Rada. This is reported by “Ukrainian news”.
The head of the CEC Tatyana Slipachuk said that the electoral Commission, in particular, do not have time to prepare the ballots. According to her, this situation is due to the imperfection of tender procedures. She believes that 58 days is very little time to carry them out.
Slipachuk urged the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabin and the President “without delay” to find a solution to this problem that the election process was held in accordance with law.
Earlier, the Central election Commission of Ukraine announced the beginning of the campaign for early parliamentary elections. By law, the electoral process cannot be stopped even by the court.
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada on may 20 in his inaugural speech, stressing that the level of trust of citizens to the existing Parliament is too low. The decree was signed the next day. According to published earlier in mass-media the project of the presidential decree, the basis for this decision is the insufficient number of deputies in the ruling coalition.
Early parliamentary elections will be held on July 21.
