The Khimki city court sent under house arrest until June 16, a member of the Council of the movement in defense of voters ‘ rights “Golos” Roman Udot, reports “Kommersant”. He was accused of murder threats addressed to the staff of NTV.

In March 2018 Udot had an argument with the crew of NTV in Sheremetyevo airport. He took the phone from the journalist Alexandra Miroshnichenko, explaining that she did not have permission to remove it. Member of the Board of the movement went to the police, where and passed the phone as evidence. While Miroshnichenko wrote a statement about the theft of the device.

20 may 2019 Udot was summoned for questioning, but not because of the theft of the phone. The police themselves filed a case about the threat of murder (part 1 of article 119 of the Criminal code of Russia) because of the phrase “I will kill you”. Her fellow “Voice” cried out to employees of NTV during the conflict.

Udot explained that uttered the phrase, because she couldn’t stand the regular prosecution of the channel. According to him, the crew of “stuck with provocative questions” and “conducted illegal wiretapping”.

Lawyers for the contestants thought the house arrest unnecessarily severe measure of restraint. According to the organization’s co-Gregory Melkonyants, Udot arrest is an attempt to discredit the movement and to prevent the summer monitoring campaign. He admitted that house arrest will delay at least until the end of the summer.
