Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree stipulating the abolition of internal roaming in Russia. Writes about this TASS with reference to the statement of the Prime Minister on the meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers.
Medvedev reminded that in accordance with the law, domestic roaming will cease to operate from 1 June. The legislation also consolidates free incoming calls throughout the country. The Prime Minister said, in fact, the cellular operators have already moved to the new standards. “It certainly has made travel around the country much more comfortable,” he said.
In late April, it was reported that national roaming will be canceled in the Crimea. The head of the Federal Antimonopoly service Igor Artemyev said that his Department was able to convince the existing regional operators of the necessity of such a step.
At the end of 2018, President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the abolition of national roaming. According to the document, the cost of communication will depend on the region in which the user is located.
