Russian Prosecutor General’s office has prepared a lawsuit in the amount of 3.2 billion rubles to the former mayor of Vladivostok Igor Pushkarev, convicted of receiving a bribe. On Monday, may 27, reported on the Agency’s website.
A claim for the forfeiture to the state of property obtained through corruption are presented not only Pushkarev, and another eight co-defendants. The basis was the results of checks of observance of requirements of the legislation when contracts for the purchase of construction materials for municipal needs.
Thus were revealed the facts of the collusion of the mayor and its subordinate institution “Roads of Vladivostok” with his brother “Vostoktsement”. It is established that all was concluded at least 90 contracts, and the derived income amounted to over 3.2 billion rubles.
9 April it was reported that the court sentenced Pushkareva to 15 years in prison and a fine. He was found guilty of corruption and abuse of power. According to the investigation, from 2008 to 2015, he received bribes in the amount of 75 million rubles for assistance to certain companies in winning grants for the construction of roads. One such enterprise was “Vostokcement”, reissued on brother Pushkarev.
Igor Pushkarev became the mayor of Vladivostok in 2008. In June 2016 he was arrested on suspicion of abuse of office and commercial bribery. In the fall of 2017, he resigned at his own request.
