Prosecutor General Yury Chaika suggested to appoint to the post of Prosecutor of Moscow Denis Popov, head of management of the Supervisory authority in Dagestan. About this informed the newspaper “Kommersant”.
His candidacy will be considered by deputies of the city Duma at the nearest session, said the speaker of city Parliament Alexey Shaposhnikov.
Popov was appointed Prosecutor of Dagestan in February 2018. It took place in the Republic a large-scale anti-corruption inspection, in which defendants in criminal cases were representatives of senior management of the region. Among them, the now former Prime Minister Abdusamad Gamidov, his deputies, Ministers and heads of several departments.
In the spring of 2019 in Dagestan have identified the massive theft of gas. The searches took place at thousands of gas industry companies, filed eight criminal cases, says “Kommersant”.
