The Amur shipbuilding plant in the current year will lay four small missile ship (MRK) project 22800 (code Karakurt). This was reported by the Mil.Press FlotProm two people familiar with the source.

Two ships that have received the serial numbers 201 and 202 will lay in the first half of June. The rest by the end of the year. The ships will be named in honor of Russian cities: “Pavlovsk”, “Rzhev”, “Udomlya” and “Ussuriysk”. Data of MRK Pacific fleet should be received no later than 2026.

Earlier in may it was reported that the aft MRK project 22800 from soot repainted in black.

In September 2018 Mil.Press FLOT announced that Russia is considering the possibility of equipping the IRAS project 22800 Chinese diesels.

MRK 22800 project “Karakurt” is a series of Russian multi-role rocket-artillery ships near sea area developed by the Central marine design Bureau “Almaz”. The Russian Navy needs to get 18 ships of this project. The ships are equipped with complex high-precision missiles and modern artillery systems.

In addition to the Amur shipbuilding plant, the construction of the MRK project 22800 engaged in Leningrad and the Zelenodolsk shipyards, and “Vostochnaya Verf”.
