The state Duma of Russia plans to assess the damage caused to the Crimea for the period of stay in the Ukraine. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
For the research the staff of the lower house of Parliament announced a tender with a starting price of about 10 million rubles. Analysts should conduct a study of the socio-economic and legislative regulation of key aspects of life on the Peninsula in the Soviet period, the Ukraine and the Russian Federation. In addition, before the contractor will be the task of the damage assessment the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol in the period from 1991 to 2014.
April 3rd state Duma Deputy from the Crimea Andrei Kozenko stated that, according to conservative estimates, the amount of damage significantly more than 1.5 trillion rubles. Before that
first Vice-speaker of the Republican Parliament, Yefim Fiks is estimated that in the Ukraine, the Crimea has suffered losses of several trillion rubles.
Crimea became part of Russia according to the results of a referendum held in March 2014. Ukraine and much of the international community does not recognize its results and consider the presence of the Peninsula as part of Russia’s occupation. The Russian side insists that the process of the annexation of Crimea meets standards of international law.
