Twitter account of the British Royal family surprised the users of the network, showing German Chancellor Angela Merkel as the representative of one of the member countries of anti-Hitler coalition. The corresponding message was later deleted, reports RT.
In the post mentioned that the Prime Minister, Theresa may, presented to the British Queen Elizabeth II, politicians who represent the allied nation that took part in the “day D” — the landing of troops in Normandy. To it was attached a video in which the monarch shakes hands including Merkel.
Twitter users in the comments noticed that, though Germany and participated in the events, but still fought on the other side. Some felt that Merkel as the representative of Germany to shake hands was worth last.
Currently bewildering the record is deleted. On the page there is another message. It refers to the meeting of the Queen with the representatives of the allied Nations and on the attached photos Merkel is not visible.
