The negotiations of the trilateral contact group (TAG) in Donbass were quite optimistic. This was stated by the special representative of the head of the OSCE Saydik Martin, reports TASS.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to a dilution of forces and means in the village of Lugansk on June 10 and the signing of the agreement on a cease-fire on June 19. In addition, the meeting discussed the humanitarian and economic problems, in particular, the lifting of the blockade of Donbass.
According to the representative of Lugansk in the negotiations of the contact group Rodion Miroshnik “news” at the last meeting, it was “more constructive and careful attitude to the statements.” “There is some progress, but about the specifics to speak still early” — he said.
The meeting of the contact group took place on 5 June. On it the former President of Ukraine and the official representative of the country in the pipeline at the Donbass Leonid Kuchma offered to lift the blockade of individual areas of the region. The former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is considered a betrayal of national interests of the country.
Part of Donbass is out of control in Kiev after an armed conflict that lasted almost five years. In April 2014, the Ukrainian government began a military operation against the unrecognized Donetsk and Lugansk national republics, which declared independence from Kiev after the change of the Central government.
