The former leader of the banned in Russia “Right sector,” Verkhovna Rada Deputy Dmitry Yarosh said that the military Operation of combined forces in the Donbass (EP) to submit to the orders of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Wrote about this on his page on Facebook (link available in all countries except Russia).
According to the Deputy, the proposal Zelensky to give the order “not to open fire in response” violates the country’s Constitution and the Charter of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU). He argues that there is prescribed obligation of the military to defend in defending the homeland and not to obey criminal orders.
“I therefore appeal to the President and Supreme commander Vladimir Zelensky not to do hasty steps and not to give illegal orders that are still not fulfilled,” — called Yarosh.
A proposal on the prohibition for the Ukrainian army to return fire was announced on 5 June at the meeting of the tripartite contact group to resolve the conflict, the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, who had recently been appointed to the position of representative of Kiev Zelensky.
According to the former President, such initiatives should be developed by June 19 and adopted on this day at the next meeting of the contact group. The need for such an order, he explained that “then we were not to blame.” “There were some shown, others in the opposite direction that they began, and we’re back…” — said at a briefing Kuchma.
In Ukraine, this proposal was received with negativity. Thus, the Vice Prime Minister Vyacheslav Kyrylenko called the policy of the President Zelensky Donbass “shameful and helpless”, and the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy said that the ban on return fire — “this is not the way to peace is the path of surrender.”
