American Sprinter Gabriel Grunwald died at the age of 32 from cancer. It is reported by “BBC”.
American fought cancer for nearly a decade. According to her husband, a runner died in his sleep.
The athlete did not throw training and continued to speak on the background of the fight against the disease. In 2016, Grunwald decided that she managed to beat cancer, however it turned out during the examination, she needed further treatment.
In 2011 she took part in the national selection for the Olympics in London. Grunwald finished fourth in the race at 1,500 meters after a course of radiotherapy. Third place would have brought her a ticket to the Olympics.
She represented team USA at the world championship in the closed premises in 2014. In a distance of 3000 meters, it showed the ninth result. Grunwald won the gold championship of the USA in the same distance.
