Crimean authorities commented on the possible decision to extend sanctions against Peninsula. The head of Committee of the Crimean Parliament for interethnic relations Yuri HEMPEL thought it was “puppet behavior”, reports RIA Novosti.
“Today it is obvious to all that the sanctions primarily hurt the EU, not Russia. But despite this, they again stubbornly decide on their extension. All this suggests their puppet behavior,” he said and added that EU countries remain puppets in the hands of the United States.
Earlier on Wednesday, June 12, it became known that the preparatory Committee of permanent representatives of EU countries agreed on a decision on the extension package “Crimean sanctions”. Documents sent for final approval.
Last summer the European Union has extended for one year, until June 23, 2019, the package of restrictive measures. The sanctions prohibit citizens and EU companies to invest in the Peninsula, to import or export from the Crimea. European Union, USA, Ukraine and other countries do not recognize the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014.
