The security Council of Russia has no evidence of the involvement of security services in the case of the journalist of “Medusa” Ivan Golunova. This was stated by the Secretary of Department Nikolay Patrushev, transfers on Wednesday, June 12, RIA Novosti.
“I have no information that some security officers in this case my fault,” he said, answering the journalists ‘ question about possible involvement of the employees to the business correspondent.
Patrushev has assured that in the case that someone actually broke the law, “he must be punished”.
On 11 June the chief of Department on control over drug trafficking of the internal Affairs on the Western administrative district of Moscow Andrey Shirov said he does not fear criminal prosecution. According to him, it is not the plot of such criminal proceedings, and he “had nothing to do with and do not violate the law.”
On the same day, interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev announced that it has decided to petition the President on the dismissal of the head of Department on control over drug trafficking of the MIA Yuriy Devyatkina and chief of police at CJSC Moscow Andrey Puchkov. Also, according to the head of Department, from duty will be dismissed by the law enforcement officers involved in the journalist’s case.
The correspondent of “Medusa” was detained in the afternoon on 6 June in Moscow, accused of attempted drug trafficking and sent under house arrest. The circumstances of the detention of the journalist has caused criticism from colleagues. The building of the main Department of MIA in Moscow held a series of pickets. On 11 June he was released in connection with lack of evidence.
