Relations between Russia and the US have become worse than during the cold war. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
He pointed out that Moscow and Washington are “in the point, which is much, much lower than ever.” According to him, in the worst years of opposition, the opponents could anticipate how you will develop their relationship, but now their changes are unpredictable.
Ryabkov said that to improve relations between States would help the confidence-building measures, for example, ending the practice of mutual expulsion of diplomats and closure of diplomatic missions. The Russian side believes in the progress of the relationship, he said, but “there is no place for miracle.”
June 11, Ryabkov said that the US is trying to undermine the dialogue on strategic weapons and to convince everyone what you believe for yourself. In his opinion, Washington is trying to find technological solutions to political problems, which does not facilitate dialogue between countries and resets it.
