The constitutional court of Ecuador took the decision to legalize same-sex marriage. About it reports BBC News.
Nine members of the court voted in favor of legalization, four spoke against — in their opinion, such reform should be discussed in Parliament. To discuss the decisions which will have to comply with all state institutions of Ecuador, was the claim of the two same-sex couples.
As reports the edition, on the streets of Quito, the country’s capital, following a court ruling, held street demonstrations with rainbow flags. 2015 gay and lesbian people of Ecuador were allowed to enter into civil unions.
Ecuador became the fifth Latin American country equate homosexual unions to heterosexual. Earlier it happened in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay.
In February 2019, the representatives of the United States stated that the administration of President Donald trump aims to protect the rights of homosexuals throughout the world. Currently, 25 States recognize gay marriage, even at 27 you can enter into a civil Union.
