A technician who worked on the ship, told reporters that the cause of the explosion on the tanker is still unclear. Moreover, the representatives of Taiwanese state-owned CPC Corp, an order which was performed in Front of Altair, said that the tanker could be attacked by torpedo.

The tanker was transporting 75 tons of naphtha, heavy gasoline. All crew members were rescued, minor injuries got one sailor.

Earlier, on 13 June it became known that in Iranian waters of the Gulf of Oman was attacked two oil tankers. As reported RIA Novosti, on Board one of them may be the Russians. This information is not yet confirmed.

May 13, Saudi Arabia said that two oil tankers were damaged as a result of sabotage. Two commercial vessels were injured on the same day, the port of Fujairah in the UAE, one of the largest oil ports in the world.
